Our SCC Belong Groups

At SCC we really believe that encouraging an environment of inclusivity is important in driving our success. SCC Belong is our commitment to creating a workplace where every colleague feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work every. single. day

We understand that diverse perspectives ultimately lead to better outcomes both personally and professionally. By embracing diversity, we can better serve our customers, support our communities, and create a more equitable environment for all colleagues.  

We want everyone to join us on our mission to raise awareness and promote inclusivity so that everyone has a sense of belonging.  Whether you’re passionate about advocating for marginalised groups, championing equality in the workplace, or simply keen to learn more, there is a place for you in SCC Belong. 

We have six colleague-led individual groups, dedicated to supporting and advocating for specific communities within SCC. Each group plays an important role in encouraging a culture of inclusivity and belonging. We encourage our colleagues to explore these groups, participate in their events and initiatives, and lend their voice to the conversation. 

REACH (Race, Ethnicity, and Cultural Heritage)

Committed to celebrating diversity and raising awareness about issues affecting racial and ethnic minorities.

Rainbow 

Providing a safe and supportive space for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies to connect, advocate, and effect positive change.

Young Professionals

Supporting the growth, development, and mentorship of early-career professionals within our organisation.

Empowering women to thrive in their careers, overcome barriers, and break glass ceilings.

ACCESS (including WIRED)

Advocating for accessibility, inclusion, and accommodations for colleagues with disabilities.

Health & Wellness Network

Focused on promoting mental, emotional, financial, and physical well-being for all colleagues.

Talent Development

Encouraging, and investing in, your personal and professional growth and development is really important to us.

We offer continuous support and feedback, so you learn ‘on-the-job’, plus a mix of coaching, mentoring and collaborative learning. There are online and in-person accredited courses and qualifications – both personal development and technical programmes – to help you maximise your potential.

Secondments and shadowing help expose our people to different roles and teams, and our apprenticeship schemes brings new people to our business from all walks of life.

We also offer our people the chance to study for a degree, alongside their day job.

Community

We’re also committed to supporting social inclusion and provide learning opportunities for 18+ through SCC Academy. We provide training and technology to improve their skills and employability and give them a great grounding in the world of IT.
